CROC Cloud Services Revenue Hits RUB 1.3bn
The revision of product development strategy and approach to customer service offered by CROC Cloud Services, a separate CROC business unit, has boosted business growth. The company decided to focus on product portfolio, consulting expertise and technological platform development, eventually resulting in increased customer satisfaction for CROC’s Cloud. This helped customers to more quickly and effectively solve digitalization-related tasks, such as new product launches and development of new client communication channels (digital-front end), thus ensuring full IT transformation and adoption of new business strategies.
The cloud platform started to be developed by CROC in 2009 and was officially and commercially launched a year later. Having started with just 10 organizations, CROC’s cloud is now providing services to over 300 companies. Cutting-edge solutions by global leaders such as Dell EMC were used to create the cloud, and then again to build server infrastructure and software defined storage. The use of open source solutions allowed for changes to be made to the platform source code and, therefore, faster implementation of new services and ideas. Today, CROC’s cloud provides the highest guaranteed performance on the market (up to 100,000 IOPS), which is a key feature of computing system operations.
«Over the past decade, cloud services have become standard, although the role of cloud providers has changed dramatically — from providing access to cloud infrastructure to offering services and consulting expertise. As a result, we help clients to choose the best possible solutions and jointly plan development of infrastructure and digital services,» said Maxim Berezin, Business Development Director, CROC Cloud Services.
«Our activities cover pretty much every business segment, so we clearly understand what our customers need, and keep on investing in cloud platform development tailored to industry specifics. CROC Cloud Services implements projects with the most stringent SLA on the market: 10-minute response to initial request. Today, CROC’s cloud is a high-performance and fault-tolerant platform powered by three CROC data centers with TIER III Operations Sustainability-Gold certification and services available 24×7x365. We offer dozens of products and solutions designed for various use cases, from creating test environments for developers to opening a regional branch of a transnational corporation,» said Sergey Zinkevich, Product Manager, CROC Cloud Services.
Large Russian and international companies such as Castorama, Rusagro, Teradata, M.video, etc., use CROC Cloud services. Nearly half of the entire customer base is accounted for by financial and retail sector players, while every third customer is an IT company looking to develop online services. The sector is booming! Since CROC Cloud Services was created, we have implemented around 2,000 projects, ranging from IT systems migration, while keeping business processes up and running, to complicated consulting projects that required detailed infrastructure development road maps. CROC experts consider consulting services and managed services as drivers of a company’s growth and the cloud services market in general.
In addition, the profile of cloud services users has changed over the past 10 years. Back then, 90% of all projects were initiated by a CIO. However, now every third order for cloud services comes from digital Transformation Directors and Department Heads: marketing, finance, logistics and supply chain management, etc.
«CROC’s cloud helps us solve two crucial issues. Firstly, our tourist portal is constantly available to more than one million daily customers and provides quick search functionality. Secondly, we can launch projects and new products faster. More importantly, we can also precisely calculate costs for each internal project thanks to customized billing,» said Vadim Melnikov, Technical Director for travel service Tutu.ru, a CROC Cloud services customer.
«We appreciate that CROC Cloud Services relies on Dell EMC equipment and uses is at the core of the public cloud. Over the decade of our cooperation, several generations of our servers and data storage systems changed in CROC’s data center infrastructure to keep users of cloud services happy with the high speed of business apps and reliable services,» added Andrey Nikolaev, Cloud Platforms Specialist for EMEA, Converged Platforms and Solutions Division, Dell EMC.
