CROC's Volochaevskaya 2 Data Center has successfully secured Uptime Institute1 Tier III Design Documents certification, thus proving that the facility design satisfies the highest fault-tolerance standards for enterprise data centers. This is CROC's second data center Uptime Institute certification, with the first and largest center (Kompressor) having been awarded with an extensive set of Uptime Institute certificates, including Tier III Gold Certification of Operational Sustainability. CROC Cloud2 is powered by both of the company’s data centers.

Demand for commercial data center services – cloud resources primarily – has been increasing at double-digit pace YoY. Customers use clouds for various business scenarios, particularly as a primary or backup site for critical services. This, in turn, raises operational requirements for data centers that host customers' IT systems. According to analysts, more than half of all commercial data centers are certified to international standards, thus highlighting the growing importance of comprehensive facility assessment, including Uptime Institute audits. Uptime Institute certification is recognized worldwide and covers every key aspect of data center functionality. Awarding of Uptime Institute certification to a data center provider guarantees that the facility is extremely reliable and resilient and that no additional checks are required.

Data Center Volochaevskaya 2 certification was performed as part of our Data Center Residents Strategy Framework, satisfying the concerns of customers who value certified facility features such as fault-tolerance, infrastructure engineering component backup, and non-disruptive data center maintenance.

Pavel Kolmychek
Head of CROC's Data Centers

CROC has long-term experience in data center construction and operation. We have been partnering with CROC for years, regularly recertifying the company’s Kompressor Data Center and recently re-confirming Tier III Gold Certification for Operational Sustainability. There are still only three such data centers in Russia. With CROC's experience and expertise, it wasn't a surprise that the Design Documents certification process for another CROC facility went smoothly.
